Donkey stories
While discussing different things in the world that we always do, ever knowing that these things won't affect our real life, we discovered that we know quite a few donkey stories.
Donkey lets name him Don, to avoid some Key(s)
1. One day Don was walking with his two owners a son and a father, who wanted to sell Don to some one in another village. While the three were walking someone said, "Hey what kind of people are you?, the donkey and you are walking together?, Why don't you climb on the donkey?" The father and son thought about this and the father put his son on his donkey.
While Don was carrying the load, he heard someone say, "What kind of son are you? How could you sit and make the elderly walk?". Thinking and discussing, the father finally got on the donkey.
As they crossed the village, someone in the new village said, "What kind of Father are you?, you have lived this world, Your son has to see it, how could you sit on it alone, while your son walks?
After the discussion the son and father together got on the donkey. Now they entered the new village and here the persons saw it and said, "Poor animal... cchh chh chh.." You men are ridiculous, how could you make the donkey bear the weight of two! Poor tongue less beast!. Now the father and son lifted our Don. Now in the same village people started laughing. Finally the son and Father decided they are not going to listen any more of this and walked across all villages sometimes riding with Don, sometimes Son, sometimes, father they reached the village.
2. The new master of Don was a lover of animals (or so he propagated). Along with horses and camels he also had a dog. The dog was treated well, by the master. The dog sat on master's lap, had fun with it. It licked the master's leg. Sometimes, with affection the master kissed the Dog. Don, seeing all these analysed. He came to know that the Dog is faithful to his master. It shouts when there is a guest or a thief, so the master loves the Dog. This made the Don put his sharp brain. This time when a thief came, Don started shouting "ya un ya un... ", The thief ran away. The master came out, not understanding why the Foolish Donkey was shouting. While the master came in to his stable, Don started to lick out of the joy of saving the home of a theft. The master took a whip, said "You Donkey, you first disturb my sleep and now you want to lick me. Don realized a dog should do its work, while Dons should do their own.
3. Master took Don with their harvest. Master was riding a horse, while Don was carrying the harvest. While returning from the market, the master put salt on Horse's back, while Don was taking a large load of cotton. While the master stopped for natural calls near a pond also to take care of his water needs, he left the beasts to do their own. The horse went into the water, got in so that the salt soaked. The horse was laughing! Don analysed, went into the water and was shocked to see that the weight got doubled. Meanwhile the horse acted smart and started to sneeze. The master with his kind heart did not want the horse to suffer and put the horse on the donkey. Now Don had to carry both the horse and the wet cotton! Don realized, it's better to do our work than to copy others!
4. Now Don realized that the life is to be lived this way. It was loyal (although dogs are known for loyalty), from its realizations it always did the work that was given to it. Some way Don also got old. While Master was digging a pit for taking mud for his new building, Don due to his weak eyes, could not see the pit and fell in it. Although the master now had started loving it, thought thrice and decided the expenditure for taking out the donkey will be good enough to buy new one. He told the people around to put in dirt, waste, mud whatever, in the pit.
As people started to put in mud, the old Don unable to take the stench, started to dust off, slowly the pit was full and Don came out and again started to work for the master as always being loyal.
None of these stories are new to you. If you go through the life of Don, we realize
1. What ever you do people are going to point out.
2. Every beast has a duty of its own
3. Worker has to take the load of other worker, if it tries to do like others
4. Worker has to dust off the stench when in the pit and come out of it, by itself!
All these stories tell only one big Worker lesson ((no not the management lesson this time).
Every one has to do its own work without seeing/listening to what others say!
